Are you serious?<br /><br />You might be thinking that candles are just a "woman's business." Honestly, I sort of thought the same thing when I started exploring our home candle business.<br /><br />I thought a business that involved candles must mean hosting home parties, asking friends to host parties, and so on. Then I discovered all of the many ways to build our candle business and found out parties are just one of the many great options, for those that want to do them.<br /><br />While women immediately seem to relate to this business because they love candles, I discovered it’s the fun and the simplicity that "everybody loves candles".<br /><br />Well, 9 out of 10 people loving candles is pretty much everyone to me!<br /><br />What usually first attracts men, is the money. There is a lot of money to be made in this candle business, because yes, practically everybody does love candles. How did it make you feel? Did you want to flee the environment as quick as you could? I know I did and I have! I hate being "sold" on something. Just give me the facts and let me go!<br /><br />You may not know this, but only 10% of the population respond to aggressive tactics; a full 90% will run, not walk, run away! I can't say as I blame them. If you're using this approach and aren't having much luck, there's a reason.<br /><br />There are many, many other ways of sharing your opportunity with prospects and future customers. The main ingredient???? LISTEN to your market. What are they looking for? Why do they need it? Will what you have to offer actually benefit them and their family? <br /><br />Get to know your people before you funnel your interests on them. They need to get to know you too! How will they trust you if you won't talk to them and get to know them?<br /><br />Going into a partnership with any business model is a 2 way street. It's a question I find people asking themselves every day. It's one I asked myself and I'm sure you've asked of yourself at one time or another in your life journey.<br /><br />Often times, we ask the question and leave it without an answer. When we do that we almost concede that we will NOT make it. How do we change that? We answer the question!<br /><br />What do you need to succeed in todays market? What type of product should you represent? What drives your passions?<br /><br />It's important to pick a consumable product that was made with quality and pride. In todays market, we want to reach a multitude of individuals (I selected the candle business because it is in over 80% of all homes). The product is the best I've ever used and I can stand behind the company.<br /><br />It's important to have a sponsor and company that will support you; both with a great compensation plan and with product commissions (that's why we are in the business; we need to make extra income). It's important to be able to promote your product freely (flexibility and few restrictions).<br /><br />It's important to be trained to market the product, whether through your sponsor, an on line school (<a href="http://colleengainey.marketingmerge.com">Renegade University</a>) which I highly recommend or through learning via associates and other successful individuals.<br /><br />Let me know if I can help you answer the question. If you haven't heard, she recently tried out for Britain's Got Talent 2009.<br /><br />She was an unpretentious woman, who frankly, grew up in a small village, consisting of cottages and families with what seemed like a very unassuming life. Most likely, a group of individuals, who were her family and friends, have lived in this small community for a lifetime and thought little of the outside world. <br /><br />Except for one...<br /><br />Susan Boyle, by her own acclaim wanted to be a professional singer. She wanted something more out of life and she loved to sing. So, she left her small village, and set out for Britain's Got Talent try-outs. She marched out onto the stage, her stomach churning with butterflies, at age 47 and said, "I want to sing like Elaine Paige". There were snickers through out the audience and eye-rolling from others..."Yeah right", they thought..."Oh brother"..."Here we go"...was the audience reaction. Then the judges asked, "What will you be singing for us?" She replied, "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables. More eye rolls from the audience...<br /><br />Then the music started to play...a serene smile met her face...and she began to sing. I can only say that what transpired, was probably the most shocking moment in many individuals lives...Susan sang like a angel...her voice was strong, resonant, and full of passion...it was truly a gift like none other...I still hear her sing and have tears in my eyes...What was it? Why did she touch me in this way? Why has she touched so many in this way?<br /><br />I think that many of us still believe that we can rise up, above our circumstances and insurmountable challenges and meet at a place where dreams come true. That somewhere, the world will look beyond our outward shell and see the beauty and wonder within. Susan, represents that person...that individual, with God given ability, who has risen to the surface of circumstance to deliver her profound talent to the world that we might embrace her successes.<br /><br />My prayer is that she will continue to grow in her love and talent for singing and that only wonderful things will happen to her. My thanks to God for sharing with us a little bit of wonder and joy, through her extremely blessed voice.<br /><br />For those of us who still dream, don't give up...RISE UP! Be what you can be and be more to others than to yourself! If you're a part of the Network Marketing world then you have...if you're new, then maybe not. Anthony Robbins is a premier speaker, when it comes to motivation, focus, and direction. Below is a list of his 5Principles to Success.<br /><br /><strong>1. Raise Your Standards</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />Raising your standards is another way of saying “You must turn your “SHOULDS” into “MUSTS.” When you turn your “shoulds” into “musts” your whole life will start to change. Not just your business life, but every aspect of your life. When you feel like you have to get something done, YOU WILL ALWAYS FIND A WAY!<br />If Paige and I would have waited to have kids until we had the money we would still be talking about having kids.<br /><br /><strong>2. Change Your Limiting Beliefs</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />Having a Goal is not enough to cause you to reach the goal. Your goals must not conflict with your eternal beliefs. If your beliefs conflict with the goals you set, then you will self-sabotage your efforts each and every time.<br /><br />Let me give you an example… You may have a burning passion to be financially independent, you deep inside you don’t want people to judge you, like you judge rich people. These are two conflicting goals caused by your limiting beliefs.<br /><br /><strong>3. Model Strategies That Work</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />After 25 years of studying successful people, I have found that ALL successful people, from every walk of life leave clues, for those who follow after them. As Networkers, we all have very successful upline leaders who are living the lives we dream of.<br /><br />Stop being shy, and contact them and find out what strategies they have used to get where you want to be. By listening and following their lead, you can collapse the time frame it took for them to reach where you want to be, and get there in half the time.<br /><br /><strong>4. Intensify Your Emotions</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />I believe you should Live Life Like An Epic Adventure. However, if you stop and think about it, every epic adventure has highs and lows. Life is just like that, we will have highs and lows, but if we intensify our emotions to focus on our objectives, then even when we are going through the low times we will roll right through the lows and back to the highs.<br /><br />Lance Armstrong is a great example of someone who’s world was rocked right at the high of his epic adventure. But, he did not let his emotions get the better of him, and as I am writing this post, he is preparing for his return from retirement to claim an 8th Tour De France. It is during these down turns in our epic adventure, that determine how we finish our race.<br /><br /><strong>5. Give Much More Than You Expect To Receive</strong><br /><strong></strong><br />We were all put on this earth for a purpose, what the ancient Hebrews called our “Chazown.” If you will make it your focus to live your purpose, and give back to others more than you take, then you will soon find that the success in life you are chasing, will show up.<br /><br />Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying your life will become a utopia. But, it will happen. For almost 10 years Paige and I chased a dream of moving from Independence Missouri, to the Emerald Coast of Florida; specifically a small barrier island, where the town of Destin sits. During that 10 years, we went through a medical crisis with Tessa, a personal bankruptcy, our son going to jail several times, and Paige having a miscarriage. But, because of giving more than we expected in return we finally stopped chasing the dream, and watched it become reality.<br /><br />Through those 10 years we never stopped giving to others, without expectation. Paige helped a single mother, walk through the premature birth of her baby girl. A baby so small she fit in the palm of my hand, and was not fully developed. Paige was able to relate to her pain because of her own lost. Today that baby is healthy and running strong. I was able to stop a man from throwing himself off a bridge because he thought his life was worthless.<br /><br />We owned a restaurant during this time period and were able to rally our patrons to give money, gifts and food to those at Christmas who did not have enough money to pay their monthly bills, let alone get gifts for their children. In all these cases, these folks were not able to give back to us, nor would they remember us today.<br /><br />But, I firmly believe that because we gave with a pure heart, and did not expect anything in return, that we have been blessed with a life most folks only dream of.<br />I am not talking about a life, like we see running around the internet with the fancy cars, homes big enough to fit the Queen of England, and countless trips to the end of the earth.<br /><br />I am talking about a life where we both work from home, we have the time to enjoy our children, and we can walk to the beach anytime we desire.<br /><br />In closing take time today to write these five Principles For Success on a 3×5 card and carry them with you wherever you go. When submitting Ezine articles, you often times (almost always) have the opportunity to add your business information. These Ezines are blasted out to hundreds of thousands of people...everyone clambering to see what you have to offer...Google, "How to write Ezine articles" and see what comes up. It may inspire you! I have, it was last night. I spent the evening with my daughter, her husband, my grandbaby and "extended" family; one of whom just returned from Afghanistan. He was home with his wife and babies...savoring the taste of "real" milk, talking of his experiences, and sharing his ideas and hopes for his future. We thank him for his service to our great country. You may be asking what does this have to do with working from home. Everything...I do this because I have a family, I want to be with my family, I want to give them things I never had, and provide for them if the need be. Times are hard and my family may need me. So I picked a solid, legitimate, home business and went to work for myself. I selected a reputable company with solid numbers and waded into the pool.
